POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Custodian ensures cleanliness and upkeep of company facilities, contributing to a safe, organized, and welcoming environment. This position is responsible for a variety of housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, sanitizing, setting up for events, and maintaining field project offices. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and occasional travel to satellite offices.
YOUR ROLE
• Clean and sanitize restrooms using established practices and procedures.
• Dust and wipe furniture, sweep, mop, or vacuum floors, and empty wastebaskets and trash containers.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of facilities for meetings, conferences, and events.
• Perform floor care, including stripping, cleaning, buffing, and applying sealers or finishes to hard floors, as well as vacuuming and shampooing carpets.
• Wash walls, equipment, and accessible interior and exterior windows; clean blinds and launder cleaning rags and dust mops.
• Remove debris from sidewalks and surrounding areas, water plants, pull weeds, and ensure outdoor cleanliness within proximity to facilities.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed for cleaning or event setup.
• Lock and unlock buildings, secure facilities, check for unauthorized access, and ensure lights are turned off when buildings are not in use.
• Follow established safety protocols for using chemicals and supplies.
• Maintain and clean project field offices regularly.
• Drive to satellite offices or project sites as required for cleaning and maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
• 5+ year of custodial experience required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to satellite offices or project sites as needed.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in completing tasks.
• Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions and apply common sense understanding.
• Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality with a willingness to work varying schedules, including overtime.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Custodian must frequently stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and use hands for cleaning and operating tools or equipment. The role involves lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, working on ladders, and handling cleaning chemicals. Visual acuity to inspect cleanliness and ensure task completion is required. Work is primarily performed indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks, including maintaining sidewalks and surrounding areas. Travel to satellite offices or project sites may be required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to travel within the State of Texas as needed, overnight or out of town stay may be required.
