Responsibilities
We are seeking a Construction Manager for our Transportation-Construction Management Practice in the Metro Detroit, MI area.
The Construction Manager will help manage and administer roadway and bridge transportation construction projects as well as the internal workings of a satellite office. Responsible for project management, contract administration, review and interpretation of plans, specification, and other construction contract documents, monitor scope, schedule and budgets, prepare and process work orders; mentor, supervise and assign work to subordinate staff members while enforcing the practices, methods and procedures of a professional work environment.
Qualifications
We are seeking a Construction Manager for our Transportation-Construction Management (T-CM) Practice in the Hampton Roads, VA area.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with 5+ years experience or High School Diploma or GED with 10 years relevant experience A minimum of 5-10 years' experience with major road or bridge construction inspectionAbility to manage construction inspection activities on a wide variety of roadway and bridge construction projects.Knowledge of material testing procedures and testing equipmentAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writingAbility to manage construction inspection activities on a wide variety of roadway and bridge construction projectsGood driving recordMust obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in specified time frames including VDOT background check and required fingerprintingAbility to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist or stoop frequently and for prolonged periodsAbility to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasksAbility to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protectionAbility to lift and/or move you to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
Licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia or the ability to obtain a license within 6 monthsCertified Construction Manager (CCM) certificationAll VDOT Material CertificationsVA DEQ Erosion & Sediment Control and Stormwater Management Inspector certificationsATSSA Intermediate Work Zone Traffic Control VDOT Guardrail Installer's Training (GRIT)OSHA 10 hourExperience with VDOT contract specifications
