Overview

Consor is currently looking for a Fiber Optic Technician/Construction Inspector for our Denver office. This position will contribute to delivering intelligent transportation systems (ITS), smart city, connected vehicle, electric vehicle infrastructure (EV), mobility hub, bus rapid transit (BRT) and fiber communications projects. Candidate must be a highly motivated, eager to learn, enjoy working outdoors and open to traveling statewide. If you have experience with fiber optic installation, splicing, terminating, testing and have experience or interest in ITS construction inspection plus exhibit good communications skills, enjoy a healthy team environment, and are interested in the implementation of technology in transportation, you may be the perfect fit for this position! Hourly Rate: $27/HR to $34/HR

Responsibilities

Small scale fiber optic cable installations, splicing, terminating & testingMonitoring construction activities and performing daily site inspectionReviewing material quantities, pay applications and submittalsChecking for conformance to project requirements and design plansPreparing project documentationMaintaining communications with the client and contractorFollowing our quality control process to ensure high caliber work productsFlexible schedule, as work hours often vary between day, night shifts and weekends
Qualifications

Experience in transportation construction projects and/or new technology deployment projects is preferredFiber optic certifications are desirableBackground in electrical, electronics, fiber optics, communications or intelligent transportation system technologies is preferredEffective communication skills; both oral and written for team collaboration and interpersonal relationships developed with employees and clientsExcellent ability to solve problemsSelf-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skillsA desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment supporting our client's overall project goalsTime management and the ability to multitask and prioritize competing project obligationsAbility to work with others and capacity to learn new skillsAbility to travel overnight throughout Colorado
