The Business Solutions Developer is responsible for the support, configuration, implementation, and enhancements of the ERP and SaaS applications utilized by Sterling's corporate business functions. The Business Solutions Developer reports to the Manager, Enterprise Applications, and partners with Sterling's corporate business functions to align technology services with business needs.
Position_Description : Provide ongoing support including configuration, administration, implementation, enhancement, upgrade and integration of corporate applications that support critical business functions including HR, Finance, Audit, Safety, and Legal.Provide technical expertise during merger and acquisition activities, including systems integration, data migration, and application consolidation.Engage proactively with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, identify opportunities for holistic system improvements, and translate business requirements into technical specifications and system designsAct as an internal consultant to our stakeholders by conducting thorough analysis of existing business processes and workflows to identify areas for optimization and automation, and AI/MLMaintain comprehensive, up-to-date documentation on system configurations, processes, and support proceduresDevelop and document detailed business process models, including "as-is" and "to-be" states, to guide system enhancements and drive process improvementsLead application updates and patches to minimize business disruptionPartner with vendors, systems and application teams for application implementation and upgrade projectsPartner with internal and external resources to ensure proper integration with existing systems and data sources

Strong understanding of database design, SQL, and data integration techniquesProven experience implementing and/or converting ERP solutions (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday)A solid understanding of business processes and challenges, as well as the ability to translate those needs into technical solutions.Solid knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) methodologies and best practices and familiarity with IT enterprise process standards and regulations (e.g. ITIL, Lean, SOX)Experience with application lifecycle management, from requirements to implementation.Ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics and influence without direct authority and build consensus among diverse stakeholdersProject management experience with ability to coordinate cross-functional initiativesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and customer-focused mindset.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across departments.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field8+ years of experience supporting ERP in a large organization5+ years of technical experience developing RICEW components (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, and Workflows).
