POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Foreman is responsible for managing and directing the activities of a specialized crew in any division (e.g., Concrete, Street, Underground Utilities, Traffic Signals, etc.). The Foreman ensures that work is completed efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with project specifications and schedules. This role requires strong leadership, the ability to solve routine problems, and the capacity to communicate with supervisors regarding more complex issues. The Foreman oversees daily production, ensures safety standards are met, and maintains the quality of work performed by the crew.

YOUR ROLE
• Oversee a specialized crew involved in construction, repair, and maintenance activities across various divisions, assisting the crew with daily tasks as needed.
• Review the approved 2-week schedule with Superintendents and receive assigned tasks.
• Read and thoroughly understand project plans and specifications to guide the crew.
• Inspect work areas before, during, and after tasks to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications while meeting productivity expectations.
• Communicate material, equipment, and staffing needs to the Superintendent to avoid delays.
• Transport employees, tools, equipment, and supplies required for daily tasks.
• Complete and submit required documentation, including production sheets, timesheets, equipment inspection reports, and shipping tickets, using digital tools like tablets.
• Understand and apply pay items and phase codes for each project.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, and performance review processes for crew members.
• Attend weekly Foremen meetings and communicate relevant updates to the crew.
• Inspect assigned equipment with operators, report maintenance needs to the Equipment Manager, and ensure equipment cleanliness and proper use.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper usage of company vehicles, adhering to all company vehicle policies.
• Monitor the safety of the assigned crew and ensure compliance with all safety policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct weekly "Toolbox" safety discussions and address any safety concerns with the crew.
• Always ensure all personnel wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) on the jobsite.
• Approve time-off requests and submit accident or incident reports for the crew.
• Communicate disciplinary issues, status changes, and other personnel matters to the Superintendent, HR, and management as needed.
• Track and submit time worked using tablet-based applications.
• Foster a positive work environment by maintaining professional relationships with inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and team members.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a construction-related field.
• Valid Texas Driver's License required; CDL preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting project plans and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, direct a crew, and solve routine problems independently.
• Knowledge of scheduling, materials, equipment, and staffing needs.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including overtime and weekends.
• Proficiency in using digital tools and tablets for reporting and documentation.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Foreman frequently performs physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, bending, squatting, and crawling in confined spaces. Lifting, moving, or pushing up to 75 pounds is occasionally required. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision. This role involves navigating uneven terrain, climbing stairs, and working in outdoor environments exposed to extreme temperatures, loud noise, and active construction zones. Driving company vehicles is also required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to travel within the State of Texas as needed, overnight or out of town stay may be required.
