Overview

The main function of the Civil Technician 2 is to be responsible for the completion of inspection, including initial interpretation, reporting and billing. Civil Technicians are thoroughly familiar with the scope and methods of the civil inspections being used and should perform assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistant Technicians.
Responsibilities

Ensure that all testing equipment used is functioning properly, maintained as required by company and/or manufacturer's policy, and that all calibrated equipment is within its calibration cycleEnsure that project testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications, requirements, and company policies or proceduresTravel to various job sites in a company-provided vehicle to perform sampling and testing on construction materials, such as concrete, soils and asphaltReturn samples to the office for testingReport data in an accurate, complete, timely, and understandable fashion in accordance with applicable testing proceduresOperating testing equipment; ensure that all test equipment used is functioning properly and maintained as required by the company and/or manufacturer's policy and that all calibrated equipment is within its calibration cycleOperate a motor vehicle; maintain company vehicle (schedule oil changes, check fluid levels, inside/outside upkeep)Communicate with dispatching and/or field supervisor, advising of current job status and locations as required; cellular phones are to be worn at all times, and calls are to be returned immediatelyRegular attendance is required; technicians must arrive on time for scheduled jobsSafely Operates company vehicles and strictly adhere to company safety regulationsDirect, mentor, and train personnel in the method(s) in which certified and capable of.Provide direction and guidance with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the company and client. Responsible for all paperwork to be turn in a timely manner including safety forms, company required forms, customer forms, and timesheetsDemonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and promote a positive customer service attitude internally and externallyFollow and enforce the Company required safe work practices and procedures at all times.Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and promote a positive customer service attitude internally and externallyEnforce and abide the requirements of safe operation and personal safety using required Personal Protective Equipment and Safe Practices per company policy. Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.3-5 years of relevant testing or inspections experienceTechnical Background in Civil Materials and Construction techniques preferredEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
