The desired candidate will perform safe and efficient construction equipment operation, and other duties as assigned by the construction manager and/or the site supervisor.
Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Operate various types of construction equipment to perform tasks such as leveling, shaping, and excavating surfacesPerform all job duties per OSHA and MSHA laws and regulations, established company safety policies, and state and federal environmental regulations in a safe manner consistent with the Mitigation Resources of North America safety cultureConduct routine maintenance and inspections on the equipment to ensure proper functioningPerform various physical duties as directed by the site supervisor, such as installation of structures, erosion matting, silt fencing, seeding, and fuelingCollaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectivelyWilling to be cross-trained and task trained on all construction and ancillary equipmentMove, secure, install, build, load, or unload materialsMoves items from place to place, according to the direction of the site supervisorExtended periods of travel will be required
OTHER DUTIES:
Work with other ancillary equipment in a safe and organized mannerAssist in water management, reclamation, load/haul, and maintenance activities, as necessaryMiscellaneous work related to stream mitigation activities and operation of ancillary equipment. Some of these activities will occur outside the cab of the equipmentAssist with any maintenance needs for routine repairsKeep the supervisor informed of any potential problemsOther duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Previous experience operating heavy equipment such as graders, bulldozers, and loadersFamiliarity with GPS equipment is a plusKnowledge of proper equipment operation techniques and safety proceduresStrong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentMust understand basic mechanical workings of construction equipment to operate properly, within tolerances, and perform preventative maintenance and servicing on occasionKnowledge and ability to respond to emergencies and unpredictable situationsAbility to recognize unsafe and adverse conditions and the knowledge to correct them
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High school diploma or GEDTwo years of experience operating off-road construction equipment
