Overview

As a graduate construction engineering, you'll inspect various facets of work on the construction site, take field measurements, perform calculations, and prepare relevant inspection reports. You'll verify the use of appropriate materials and construction processes, ensuring that construction adheres to project plans, specifications, and special provisions. Review and analyze construction documents and scheduling. The graduate construction engineering reports to the project manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist with various design-related tasks, analyses, and field duties for transportation infrastructure projects.
• Support the development of construction plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, bid contract documents, various calculations, quantity takeoffs, and material testing coordination under the direction of licensed civil engineers.
• Maintain relationships with client partners and contractors to ensure construction activities adhere to the schedule and fulfill contractual obligations.
• Aid in organizing tasks and responsibilities for field inspection personnel.
• Participate in the examination and assessment of construction scheduling, change orders, requests for information, and cost proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Passed the fundamentals of engineering exam
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD software
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
• This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.
• While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
