Position Title: Project Manager, Construction & Outage Management

Location: Council Bluffs, IA, United States

Description:
This position plans, develops budgets and directs both long-and short-term scheduled maintenance outage plans and construction plans. They share the responsibility for the safe, cost effective and timely execution of those outage plans and implementation of major projects with plant management.

Responsibilities:
Develops project plans, provides direction and coordinates project activities associated with outage tasks and capital investments to meet targeted time frames and budgets.

Coordinates construction projects at various power plant locations.

Strong use of interpersonal skills to coordinate the work of many different work groups, vendors and contractors.

Utilizes influencing skills to challenge and gain acceptance to altering current practices as necessary.

Ensures the safety of all employees involved with the work. Negotiates and administers both long-and short-term contracts for services and projects at the generating stations.

Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field is preferred or equivalent work experience. (Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)

Six years of plant experience, including two years in a senior technical/leadership role.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of outage project plans.

Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities. Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

The ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds.
