Position: Project Manager - Construction & Utilities, Oil Storage

Position Summary:
Spear Group has an exciting Project Manager - Mechanical / Utilities construction opportunity in the bulk storage / tank industry (oil & gas). Project Manager is responsible for development, estimating, and execution of small and large projects. The Project Manager will formulate parameters for each project, including design elements and implementation procedures ensuring that projects are completed on time, on budget, and in compliance with all government regulations. This position supports the owner's side and will work closely with the owners & all corporate stakeholders to ensure smooth transition of assets and safe project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead efforts in facility redevelopment, takes ideas and input from various stakeholders and leads effort in creating estimates and plans to bring projects from inception to completion ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets and company quality standards. Demolition and utility rerouting could be examples of project deliverable goals.Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements and reviewing bids from contractors.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Maintain a safe and clean working environment through understanding and knowledge of current federal, state, local, and company regulations.Maintains a project database by creating spreadsheets and entering and backing up data & documentation.Collaborate with Owner Company Management to create more efficient methods and maintain profitability.Establish the methods by which all field tests are administered and develop various ways to monitor the quality of those tests.Review and recommend modifications and changes in equipment to ensure that it is safe, reliable and efficient.Must understand and help enhance the safety of our facilities, staff, customers, and the public.Support the Operations and EHS&S functions of the business as warranted/assigned.Liaise with regulatory agencies, local governmental authorities, and local community organizations.Generate and maintain work orders and close out after completion of projectReview change orders and red line drawings during construction
Required and Preferred Skills, Experience, Certifications, and Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering - preferably mechanical engineering to deal with projects where utilities are involved. HAZOPWER 40-hr or 24 hour5+ years related field and project planning experienceHigh school diploma or GEDConstruction Management experienceKnowledge of EAM/Microsoft Projects and Workday.Valid Driver's LicenseTWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials)Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language.Ability to understand written and verbal communication in the English language.Ability to make decisions in a variable environment.Ability to communicate with all other departments.Knowledge of basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions).Ability to work with dynamic personalities.Ability to manage and delegate efficientlyExcellent mathematical and analytical skillsProficient in Microsoft ApplicationsExcellent Communication SkillsEAM/Microsoft Projects, Word, Excel, WorkdayAbility to manage numerous and varied projects in a frequently changing work environment.Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environmentAbility to work closely with others with a positive attitude and a willingness to help others. Typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
This position requires overtime and occasional weekend work as job duties demand. Occasional travel over 25% may be necessary, sometimes with little or no advance notice.

This job operates in an office environment as well as the outside environment (i.e. construction site) and in differing weather conditions.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb, bend, stoop, kneel and lift moderately. Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to negotiate uneven surfaces, climb ladders including heights over 40 feet, and negotiate uneven surfaces.Because the facility and adjoining facilities handle hazardous materials, the employee must be able to ingress and egress in foreseeable emergencies. The applicant must be able to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.The large scale of the operation and the extensive layout of the facility require that the employee have the ability to walk and stand on uneven terrain, to climb stairs and ladders, and traverse inclines: uphill, downhill or mixed. Because the facility and adjoining facilities handle hazardous materials, the applicant must be able to ingress and egress in foreseeable emergencies. The applicant must be able to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.Must be able to work in a confined space, work over water, climb stairs and not be afraid of heights. Must be capable of wearing respirator and/or other PPE during some operations or emergencies.
